Rides: Sierra Madre Loop

On a fine Saturday morning, the supposed long ride of at least 10 riders narrowed down to 5. We're ready to face a new road route which is just beside Manila. I personally been on this place a lot of times but with my motorcycle and not with a bike. So as the ride started, I thought it would be an easy one as I'm a bit familiar with the corners and climbs. Too bad, it was so different and rather hell for all of us. We've completed the 92kms ride (from my GPS app btw the guys from Manila probably got 100kms) with an 889m gain and 641m Max Elevation along with the sun, rain, storm and mud.

Check out the some pictures and details after the cut

My Low Pro and Kalki's Vigorelli

Sok's Mercier and Kiko's Legnano

Sok being the most experienced with this route and also an adventure racer paced our way going up the hills starting at Cogeo, Antipolo.

Probably our 4th stop was at the Cottage Gardens. Failed to take some pictures on the initial 3 stops as I was catching my breath and the rain starts to fall on the third stop.

Kalki's portrait with his Vigorelli. Taking advantage of the lightweight frame, you will never see him get tired and even stop on the long hill climbs.

Took a picture of my weapon. Colossi Low Pro X WeFXD. Also a lightweight and aggressive one.

Taking some rest before we proceed with the next 1.5 kms climb.

Kiko and his Legnano. Look at that BIG Ring!

One of the hardest climb of the journey that made me stop when I saw that sign. Rain started to pour harder by the way. Sok told us that there was a Storm Signal no. 1 on Manila.

Though this kid showed us how it is done. He even climbed standing all the way up to the top.

Once we reached the highest level, or just beside the Sierra Madre Hotel, We did some portraits along with the rewarding view of the mountains.

Master Sok

Kiko Escora

Next will be the Jala Jala Loop. Our plan is to ride all of the routes which is just beside Metro Manila once every month so watch out for the next journey. This ride is a real pain especially going up the 641m maximum elevation but it's all worth once the thought of completing such course sinks in you. This will gonna be one of the most epic and hell ride I've done. I'll surely return here but with a more ideal ratio.
