This bike by Maple is the 1st built I've seen that has the 650c front wheels to make the pursuit geometry efficient. Custom Frame and fork by Ave Maldea to meet all corners according to their specifications plus a special glitter metal flake on the paint which has made the frameset outstand. Dura Ace NJS parts also come into place that make this build special plus the Araya rims. This is a counter part of Lawrence's SSP  build. More pictures can be seen at the Pedal Room.

12.12.12. 5 Cities Night Ride

Manila Fixed Gear and WeFXD went on a special Wednesday 5 cities night ride last 12.12.12.

31 Riders, 27 Kilometers, Good Vibes and Good Rides.

Everyone gather at Caltex/Malugay station at around 8pm and ride out around 9pm.
The original route plan was MAKATI > MANILA > SAN JUAN > PASIG and TAGUIG. But we went riding to 2 more cities which is QUEZON CITY and PASAY. Looks like everyone is just too pumped up to pedal that night and with the crazy Xmas season Manila traffic just can't stop us from riding. After the ride everyone have a couple of beers at our usual chillin' spot at JT's The Fort and went back to Makati for some late night heavy snack.

Thanks Wham for the Spoke Cards

Ouch!!!

Ride to Ave Maldea

The WeFXD crew rode to Ave Maldea the "Master Craftsman" frame builder here in Manila. The crew dropped by his shop and checked out the Fixie frames of our friends that are being built there.

Ave Maldea is an artist with an acetylene torch and really passionate on his craft. He is one more example of Filipino artistry and craftsmanship that gives meaning to the phrase “proudly Philippine-made.”

Cordillera Ltd: The Collection

Cordillera Ltd is a start-up project that has just been created this November by a fixed gear rider from Pampanga. The brand produces limited three-panel caps inspired by urban and classic taste, tweaking the usual racing caps available near a Filipino cycling enthusiast's reach.

The three-panel pattern originated from the caps worn by racing cyclists or "casquettes" as to how fanciers call it.

The brand name came from the idea of hills that make the best routes to ride and what better name to have than a lovely piece of the Philippine Islands. The raw thought came to matter through the coordination of the idea and the hands which tailored the product. Cordillera Ltd is purely local; materials, production, and packaging. Also, the brand believes in keeping things simple and in more direct touch like being able to communicate with its customers and providing orders.

As someone who is passionate about riding bikes, the proprietor intends the brand to promote cycling as a form of transportation, exercise, and as a lifestyle. Cordillera Ltd desires to inspire people to go out on the streets and ride their bikes. As for now, that is through "casquettes."
